About a year ago Elizabeth took her first photo using our camera. Only recently has she become interested again in photography. Every time she sees the camera now (and sometimes when she doesn't see it) she asks to take "Just one picture."
"Just one?" her parent asks.
"Just one. Or two. Five. Six. Eleven!"
Here are some of the pictures she took that I like, starting with a self portrait.
I think these pictures, and some others, are pretty cool. But I'm not pretending this is a demonstration of skill or talent by ERL. Probably not. But it is a testament to the incredible engineering of these cameras (ours cost less than $200) which, even in the hands of a toddler with absolutely no instruction, produce darn good photos.
I wonder if this proves Susan Sontag's thesis that photography is not art.
