My Brave Girl

Here is Elizabeth before and after oral surgery at the hospital today. She got a shitload (technical term) of cavities filled and a number of crowns put in place as well. What an awesome, brave girl!

The dentist said that Elizabeth Rose has unusually weak enamel on her teeth, which had resulted in the multitude of cavities. The fact that she has bad teeth now is no indicator that she will have bad adult-teeth. The dentist also said that this weak-enamel problem is getting more and more widespread and she's not sure why.

If you've got any theories, now's the time to cut loose.

  1. No theories, and all that sucks. But I love the photo of Elizabeth in the hospital bed. And tell her to stop biting her fingernails.

  2. We got the foul-tasting paint for her fingers, but haven't employed it yet. She's been having a tough time the last few weeks, so we'll hold out before causing more stress.

I, too, love that photo. Probably the best picture I'll take with my phone.

Last Gasp of Summer

Sunset the first night.   It's been a good summer, but certainly more constrained than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic...
