Yesterday I took an early lunch break and met Barb and Elizabeth at Portland's newest park block on Yamhill Street. It's a very paved affair, but fun to play at thanks to spurting fountains set flush with the ground, as well as a shallow wading pool: perfect for a two-year-old on a warm summer day.
Afterward the ladies went shopping at the farmer's market and I went back to the office, rejuvenated.
Elizabeth Rose is excited to be big enough to reach the pedals of the trike she got from Grandpa when he visited in April (see photo, below).
Yesterday, when she was playing with the trike in the backyard (where it's impossible for anyone to pedal, being lumpy lawn) she said she missed Grandpa. I said, "Let's go over to the neighbor's driveway and show Grandpa how good you can pedal." She said, "Yeah!"
Edit: I just noticed that the video from my phone, the Droid X, is too wide to fit on the blog page. Until I figure out how to reformat, here are the links to the the video above and the One Girl Band video:
Aaron and Wendy were out of town this weekend, so we had partial feeding-the-cats duty. When we were over there, Elizabeth took full advantage of Lily's Bucket O' Music.
